Run To The Beat Sunday 8th September 2013
The popular charity event Run to the Beat will take place this Sunday 8th September. We wish all runners and their chosen charities the best of luck. After discussions with local organisations and other parties this year's run will start and finish in Greenwich Park. This will enable some of the roads to the south of Westcombe Park to be opened much earlier (11.20am). Read on for information about road closures and how to enter and exit the area whilst these closures are in place.
Update on Greenwich Park post Olympics
The restoration work in Greenwich Park, following the Olympics, has progressed, with some areas looking better than they did before the Games. The next project is the Herbaceous Border, to the south of the Queen's House.
Update on proposed River Crossings
Transport for London are planning a major consultation this autumn and winter on proposals for two new river crossings which will affect Westcombe Park.
No ‘OnBlackheath’ Event in 2013
Nimby have withdrawn their application to hold a music festival on Blackheath in September 2013. The Blackheath Joint Working Party, with input from the Westcombe Society, raised questions about the timing of the event, noise, and the effects on the fabric of the heath.
