The Blackheath Joint Working Party (BJWP), the body that advises Greenwich and Lewisham councils on the use of the Heath, is holding its annual Public Meeting

on Tuesday 9 June at 7 p.m.

at Blackheath High School, Vanbrugh Park SE3 7AG.

We encourage anyone who has an interest in the Heath to come along.  The agenda will include:

  • Information on who the BJWP are and what their role is
  • what events are planned for the rest of 2026. The organisers of Blackheath Fireworks will be in attendance.
  • how money raised from past events has been used to improve the Heath and support projects that monitor and protect the flora and fauna that led to it being designated a Site Of Metropolitan Interest for Nature Conservation.
  • A talk on butterflies given by local naturalist Joe Beale
  • There may also be a talk about the Bumblebee project

Do you have any ideas for projects that could improve the Heath?  This is your opportunity to put them forward.

Do you have concerns about how the Heath is managed?  Come to the meeting and get your questions answered.
