Closure of London Bridge, Waterloo East, Charing Cross and Cannon Street on some Sundays and over the Easter weekend plus other Sunday closures will mean no services on the Greenwich Line and diversions on other lines on a regular basis including the whole of Easter weekend.  More information is given on our engineering works page.

We will try to keep our page summarising engineering works up to date but cannot guarantee this so our advice is to check the Southeastern website before you travel, especially at weekends, as there will be additional changes to services due to additional engineering works.

General information  about the changes to rail services on the Greenwich Line that commenced in January can be found on our Rail page

The Greenwich Line Users Group are in communication with rail providers to try and improve services.  Please let them and us know how new system is working so far plus your tips for alternative routes.  Send your views to environment@westcombesociety.org  and to greenwichline@outlook.com or add a comment at the bottom of this post.

With regard to train services the loss of direct Charing Cross services from Greenwich Line stations is permanent and, in addition, it will not be possible to change at London Bridge onto a Charing Cross train until 2018. From now until August 2016 Cannon Street trains will stop at London Bridge but Charing Cross services will not.  In August 2016 this will reverse and Cannon Street trains will not stop at London Bridge until 2018 meaning that Greenwich line services will be fast from Deptford to Cannon Street from August 2016 until sometime in 2018.

Read about the changes, both good and bad, and find out about alternative routes and ticket acceptance on other services on our updated Rail page here and on our engineering works page.
