There’s a wonderful opportunity to peer into some fabulous local gardens on June 14-15, and raise funds for the Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospice at the same time.  For a donation, you can visit many of the most beautiful gardens in Greenwich, Blackheath, Eltham and Charlton.  Some of the garden owners are offering refreshments like elderflower drinks and cake, and some will also be selling plants.

It’s a great way to sharpen your own skills, by seeing what amazing things can be achieved with the same sort of conditions you may have in your garden.  And there’s a wide variety on offer, from food growing sites, like the Prior Street Allotments in Greenwich and the Maryon Wilson Community Food Growing Area, to sophisticated designs for domestic herbaceous plantings.  Although none are in Westcombe Park itself, all are within easy reach.
