The Friends of Westcombe Woodlands run regular days for working to regenerate this amazing resource for the area’s wildlife.  on recent workdays, volunteers planted native bluebells and 300 young wildflower plugs which will help attract pollinating insects, and cleared undergrowth.
If you haven’t already done so, don’t forget to sign up to become a Friend of Westcombe Woodlands! You can find a joining form on our website www.westcombewoodlands.org or please email westcombewoodlands@hotmail.co.uk.  Friends will be invited to our second Annual General Meeting in the evening of Wednesday 12 November. More details later.

Because there’s still lots of work to be done, we’ve decided to have an additional session on  Sunday 2 November from 10am until 1pm.  Our meeting point will be in the Maze Hill cul-de-sac just before 10.00.  If you bring your own tools, we suggest you mark your name on them. Gloves and boots are recommended.  Coffee, tea, fruit squash and biscuits will be provided. Please note there are no toilet facilities on site.

Please call Frank Smith on 07989 445 057 regarding any queries on the day.
If you have any advance queries regarding this activity or the woodlands generally, please call Tim Barnes on 8858 1185 or Frank or email us at westcombewoodlands@hotmail.co.uk.
As previously advised, the next regular Volunteer Day will be on Sunday 23 November, probably to plant some more fruit trees in the orchard in the Glade.
