Our post below alerted residents to proposals for paid parking in many areas of the borough. The Greenwich Wire has published an article telling us that the Council has now withdrawn these proposals except in Woolwich https://greenwichwire.co.uk/2025/12/18/greenwich-council-sustainable-streets-cpz-scrapped/
The Royal Borough of Greenwich are consulting on bringing in resident plus pay and display bays in six areas of the borough: Charlton, Kidbrooke and Blackheath, Plumstead, Shooters Hill, Thamesmead West, and Woolwich. If the plans go ahead most, if not all, of the borough’s streets will become part of a Controlled Parking Zones (CPZ)
The full consultation can be found on https://sustainable-streets-rbg.commonplace.is/
The consultation for Charlton will affect areas just to the East of Westcombe Park including the area around Charlton Lido.
The Charlton consultation is available on

The consultation ends on Tuesday 30 September 2025
