Developers have revised their proposals to build on Blackheath Station Car park. Residents of Blackheath are still concerned about the impact of:
- Overdevelopment
- Loss of light to nearby homes
- Removal of parking and increased pressure on the remaining spaces
- Economic harm to local businesses
Although residents support the need for new housing they feel that scale of the plans threatens the functioning of Blackheath Village, the local economy, the farmers market and the quality of life for residents.

I am a resident of Blackheath and parking in the village is expensive but at least it’s still available. I’m a wheelchair user and there are never enough wheelchair user spaces in most public parking lots and I’m sure this will be the case here. I agree with the other Blackheath residentks …all four points are valid. I am also worried about
Overdevelopment
Loss of light to nearby homes
Removal of parking and increased pressure on the remaining spaces
Economic harm to local businesses
There will not be a speck of open space left if these kinds of developments are not controlled or stopped.
