Neil Rhind’s new book looking at the history of the Westcombe Park area is arranged in 12 walks, mostly at the heart of the Westcombe Society area.  It contains a wealth of historical detail along with maps and more than 100 pictures.

The book was one of local historian and author Neil Rhind’s last projects. Not quite complete at the time of his death in February 2024, his literary executors tied up the loose ends, allowing the Blackheath Society to progress the project towards completion.  The Westcombe Society are also delighted to support publication of the book.

The book costs £12 and is available from The Blackheath Bookshop (Waterstones) and The Bookshop on the Heath.  You can also order copies for collection by emailing info@westcombesociety.org.

Profits will go to the Westcombe Society Charity of the Year which is the Greenwich and Bexley Hospice.

Walking Westcombe is the third in the series of Neil’s local walking guides, preceded by Walking the Heath (2013) and Walking the Village (2017 and 2022) by Neil Rhind and Dr Roger Marshall.
