The ‘trial’ of the new Low Traffic Neighbourhood (LTN) in West and East Greenwich is due to start on 27 November 2024. The Council call this the West and East Greenwich Neighbourhood Management Project but in effect it is an LTN and will affect all those who drive vehicles other than bicycles in the Westcombe Park, East Greenwich or West Greenwich areas.
All homes and businesses will continue to be accessible by vehicles at all times but, in Westcombe Park, vehicles crossing the railway on Maze Hill, Vanbrugh Hill, Halstow Road or Westcombe Hill and all vehicles entering St Johns Park, other than from Stratheden Road, will be fined between the hours of 7 to 10am and 3 to 7pm, Monday to Friday, unless their owners have applied for and received an exemption. Details on how to apply for an exemption can be found at royalgreenwich.gov.uk/traffic-management-scheme
All residents should have received a letter and leaflet about the scheme. Further information can be found at royalgreenwich.gov.uk/greener-safer-greenwich. (Scroll down this page and click on West and East Greenwich neighbourhood management trial – November 2024).
